AND DIRECTOR OF SUPPORT SERVICES
Company invests in nationally recognized IT talent to drive department growth

CARMEL, Ind., March 10, 2014 – Carmel, Ind.-based KAR Auction Services, Inc. (NYSE: KAR), a provider of used vehicle auction services, announced today the hiring of Stacy Mill as director of information risk and Carolyn Bogan as director of support services. KAR Auction Services, Inc. CEO Jim Hallett made the announcement.

“Stacy and Carolyn are nationally recognized industry veterans with decades of diverse IT experience in their respective fields of information security, and technical development and support,” said Hallett. “Their in-depth international expertise, industry recognition and comprehensive understanding of information security and technology for major global corporations will be crucial to the continued growth and success of our IT endeavors, as well as essential contributions to Indianapolis’s reputation as a national tech hub.”
In her role as director of information risk, Mill develops, implements and measures all aspects of the company’s information security program, builds and maintains security architecture and operations, and drives information risk and compliance initiatives. Mill is also responsible for building and growing awareness of information security initiatives at every level of the organization.

Prior to joining KAR, Mill served as director of global IT security for Yum! Brands, with a portfolio consisting of internationally recognized brands such as Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Taco Bell. Mill also served as chief security officer for Humana Military and vice president of engineering for Darwin Networks, Inc. She earned her bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics from Eastern Kentucky University, and has won numerous industry awards and honors, including the 2013 Cisco Security Innovator of the Year—Retail. She was ranked #5 Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in North America by Execrank in 2013, awarded Evanta’s Chief Information Security Officer Top 25 Breakaway Leaders recognition, and the 2013 Information Security Southeastern Executive of the Year finalist.

As director of support services, Bogan is responsible for building and driving all technical support and service desk initiatives for the KAR Auction Services group of companies, which includes more than 12,000 employees worldwide. She researches, develops and implements key programs to continually strengthen technical support operations, and guides the team to provide best-in-class technical-focused customer service.

Before joining KAR, Bogan served as director of the global service desk for Dublin, Ohio-based Smiths Business Information Services, Inc., where she was responsible for establishing 24/7 worldwide technical support for more than 14,000 users in six languages. Prior to that, Bogan was manager of the technology assistance center at Houston-based Waste Management, Inc.

Bogan earned her bachelor’s degree in training and development from the University of Houston, where she also minored in computer science. She is a certified help desk manager, a certified help desk professional, and has earned the Information Technology Infrastructure Library’s Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management.
