AMERICAN RED CROSS JOINS IAA’s ONE CAR ONE DIFFERENCE® CAR DONATION PROGRAM TO GENERATE FUNDING FOR LIFESAVING SERVICES AND RELIEF EFFORTS
The American Red Cross participates in the national car donation campaign to raise awareness of the funds vehicle donations can provide for necessary services

WESTCHESTER, Ill., July 15, 2013 — Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc. (IAA), the leading salvage auto auction company and wholly owned subsidiary of KAR Auction Services, Inc. (NYSE: KAR), announced that the American Red Cross selected IAA’s Donation Division as its national vehicle donation partner. The Red Cross will participate in the One Car One Difference® public awareness campaign to help increase the awareness vehicle donations can generate to support its mission.

“We are excited to be able to offer donors a new way to support the lifesaving services of the Red Cross,” said Neal Litvack, chief development officer of the Red Cross.

Through this partnership, IAA will help translate vehicle donations into key funding dollars that will support the Red Cross efforts to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies wherever and whenever they may occur. The funds raised by a single donated vehicle will support the mission of the Red Cross and can make a difference in the lives of those served by the organization in times of emergencies.

“During challenging times, the ability to deliver critical services in a timely and effective manner is crucial. The IAA Donation Division and our One Car One Difference® campaign offers charities like the Red Cross a significant opportunity to generate much needed funds to support the vital services they provide to the public,” said Tom O’Brien, chief executive officer at IAA. “We are pleased to partner with the Red Cross and provide the opportunities for their donors to make a difference through vehicle donation.”

The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of up to 70,000 disasters a year than range from large disasters such as hurricanes and tornadoes to a home fire; supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood; teaches First Aid, CPR and other skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families.

Since 1994, the IAA Donation Division has provided non-profit organizations with complete donation processing services – a key differentiator in the marketplace that creates a streamlined approach for participants–which has fueled tremendous results. In 2010, well over 100 designated charities throughout North America benefitted from millions of dollars in vehicle donations through IAA’s services. Over 90 percent of IAA vehicle donors said they would refer a friend to use IAA’s unique services.
